Frequently Asked Questions

How long will I have access to the course?

The online course will be available to participants from October 2007-January 2008.

Do I need to complete the course all at once?

You can go in and out of the course as often as you like. Since this is an online course, it can be completed at your own pace. Just hang on to the username and password you will receive when you register.

How much time can I expect to spend on the course?

The time spent on the course will vary by individual. Participants can expect to spend a total of approximately three hours at their computer going through the course. Additional time can be spent looking at journal article summaries and other resources as well as exchanging comments on the discussion board or discussing questions with co-workers.

Help! I’ve never participated in an online course before.

When you first enter the course, click on the “Course Introduction” icon. From there, click on “Getting Started.” We’ve provided a series of instructions for using WebCT and moving through the course. Many of our participants have never taken an online course, but after spending some time playing around in the course, they come to feel extremely comfortable with this system. Also, once you get into the course, you’ll notice a FAQ link in the upper right hand corner of many pages. Clicking on this link will pull up additional frequently asked questions about using WebCT.

Can I earn CEUs or receive a Certificate of Participation for this course?

Yes! After you have completed the course, you will be asked to complete an online evaluation. After completing the evaluation you will be directed to a webpage that has all the information you need to apply for CEUs or receive a certificate of participation. The cost for both are included in your registration fee.
