The online workshop What’s New With Teens and Their Families? Research Update for Professionals will help professionals working with families of teens to explore current research in: 1) normative adolescent development and what it means for the parent-adolescent relationship and 2) the two-way relationship between teens and an overview of their larger family system including child agency and parenting styles. Participants will have opportunities to reflect on workshop content and explore what it means for their day to day work.
School personnel, counselors, social workers, faith-based staff, parent educators, public health staff and those who work with teens and their families in community organizations and agencies are encouraged to participate. Co-workers might consider signing up at the same time to enhance learning.
Participants will be able to listen to audio-streamed PowerPoint presentations, as well as download: note taking documents for PowerPoint presentations, journal article summaries, resource lists, and other resources. Discussion boards and online learning activities also enhance this workshop.
